When will changes to Drives' Permissions/Policies be updated for users? – Inspire-Tech Customer Support

When there is an update/changes made on Drives' Permissions/Policies through CAWeb portal, the following will happen/need to be done by users to have the updated changes reflected:

Update to:

Backend

Client-Side

Drives' Permissions

Updated immediately
Permissions have no cache

Web Portal: user needs to re-login (logout and login)
When user logs in - the page will pull the latest drives' permissions

Desktop (ES-Explorer):
a. User clicks on the "Refresh Settings" button on Settings Page (Refer to Image 2)

b. User's first run in the day (anytime the app is run, if it is first run, it will be refreshed. e.g. if first run at 8am, then it will be refreshed. if first run at 5pm, then it will also be refreshed) - assuming ES-Explorer is not left running overnight

c. User waits for auto-refresh (once per day -around midnight) -assuming ES-Explorer is left running overnight

Mobile Apps (Android and iOS):
a. User kills and re-open the EasiShare app

b. User refreshes manually by going Settings > Storage Settings >Retrieve Server Storage Settings

c. User waits for auto-refresh (once per day)

Policies

Daily Job on ESWS
will refresh cached policies

Manual Refresh
admin go to CAWEB>User Management>"specific user">Drives>click "Refresh" button (Refer to Image 1)
