Microsoft Outlook auto-disabled EasiShare Outlook Add-In

If you have the newer version of Microsoft Outlook (e.g. Version 1902 Build 11328.20318), you might have difficulties enabling EasiShare Outlook Add-In.

This might be due to a registry configuration.

Warning: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious, system-wide problems that may require you to re-install Windows to correct them. Registry changes should be performed by a competent IT Professional.

In newer versions of Microsoft Outlook, 2 registry items can potentially prevent EasiShare Outlook Add-In from loading:

  • HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16\Outlook\Resiliency\CrashingAddinList
  • HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16\Outlook\Resiliency\DisabledItems

EasiShare Outlook Add-In could have been included in either or both of the list. However, the items in both CrashingAddinList and DisabledItems are not identifiable. As such, there is no way to confirm which item belongs to EasiShare in the two lists.

Currently, this issue can only be resolved by:

  1. Removing all the items from both CrashingAddinList and DisabledItems
  2. Restarting Microsoft Outlook
  3. ES Outlook Add-In should be able to load after the restart
